Partner Sourcing

American international fast food restaurant chain seeks a master franchise partner in Mexico.

The world’s third largest hamburger fast food chain was active in Mexico for over 10 years with minimum success. They decided to replace their existing regional franchises with a master franchise partner to develop the brand on a national basis.

The Challenge

The world’s third largest hamburger fast food chain was active in Mexico for over 10 years with minimum success. They decided to replace their three existing regional franchises with a master franchise partner to develop the brand on a national basis. The brand had very low recognition in the market as they had tried at least two times to land in Mexico; the first time back in the 90’s and a second time over 10 years ago with a regional franchise partners strategy.

Our Solution

We first conducted a Market Development Strategic Plan (MDSP) to assess the market potential and trace a path forward.

After a prolonged partner search, in which we visited the three major cities in the country to meet with close to 50 candidates, we were able to identify a very well capitalized partner in Mexico City who shared the same vision and was enthusiastic to proceed.

Activities

• Market Development Strategic Plan (MDSP)

• Canvassing and Prospecting Candidates

• Coordination of Market Visits

• Meetings with Qualified Prospects

Results

Our client was able to successfully sign a master franchise agreement for the development of 130 restaurants in Mexico on a 10 years period.
