The Retail World 2020
As of April 17, 2020, a total of 3,969 people have died due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The country with the highest number was Brazil, reporting 1952 deaths. It’s no coincidence that Latin American and Caribbean countries with the most tests per capita – Chile, Panama and Costa Rica – are also those with the most known cases of COVID-19. Nevertheless, the number of tests conducted in the region is worryingly low.
